AutoCAD (60 hours)

This program is suited for entry-level professionals and students who wish to learn and use AutoCAD software in engineering design and analysis. The components of the program include: exploring AutoCAD environment, create basic drawings, manipulate and alter objects, manage drawings and use inquiry commands, work with layouts, annotate and dimension drawings, hatch objects, work with reusable components.

The key takeaways from the program are:

Describe and set workspaces
Use: object snaps, track snap, polar tracks, polar snaps, and units
Use: select, move objects; grip edit; copy, rotate, mirror objects
Use: array command to pattern objects
Use: layer tools; match properties; inquiry commands
Use: join and fillet commands
Create new layout; create and manipulate viewports
Use: multiline text command and format text / paragraphs; text styles
Create dimensions on linear objects; create and modify dimension styles; create and edit multilayers
Create hatch patterns and fills
Use: block and insert command
Work with polylines

Prerequisites:

College level Mathematics
School-level competency in English
Proficiency with Computers, office suites and database
Knowledge of engineering drawing equivalent to I-II year of Bachelor of Engineering course
