Rajesh Alla
Chairman & Managing Director

Rajesh Alla is the founder of IIC Technologies Private Limited and as a Chairman and Managing Director, he drives the strategy and direction for IIC group of companies.  An engineer by profession, he has an impeccable record of three decades in the IT industry.

A graduate from Carnegie-Mellon University and alumni of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, Rajesh is one of the pioneers in automated digitizing and recognition of documents and has developed numerous pattern recognition and image processing algorithms.

Derrick Peyton
Chief Executive Officer

With over three decades of experience in the geospatial and engineering industry Derrick steers IIC Technologies strategy and growth as a Chief Executive Officer.  His educational experience covers the scope of post-secondary industry including technical diplomas in surveying and mapping as well as BSc Eng, MSc Eng, and a MBA, Derrick’s rich global experience covers surveying and civil engineering technologies, oceanography and hydrography, offshore oil and gas, and defense.  In addition, he has significant experience in developing positioning strategies for engineering technologies.

Derrick is a Professional Engineer (Nova Scotia) and a Canadian Lands Surveyor (CLS). He also has an IHO Cat “A” recognition (Academic and Proficiency Certification).

A passionate teacher, Derrick has been contributing to the field of education and research for last many years and has several professional papers to his credit.

Barbara Bond
Adviser

Barbara has a long-standing interest in the area of higher education. She is presently Pro-Chancellor of the University of Plymouth (UK) and was formerly Chair of Governors.  She has served on the Higher Education Funding Council for England’s Leadership, Governance and Management Strategic Advisory Committee and was a member of the Equality Challenge Unit’s Project Group considering the need to increase diversity in university governance. In the UK.  She holds an MBE for services to higher education and an honorary Doctorate in Science. 

Barbara had a very distinguished professional career in the fields of mapping and charting.  As the Deputy Chief Executive of the UK Hydrographic Office, Barbara was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the agency, with particular responsibility for the delivery of analogue and digital marine navigational charts, publications and services to the international merchant maritime and defence markets.

Barbara is a Fellow and past-Council member of the Royal Geographical Society, and Fellow and past-President of the British Cartographic Society.  She chaired the International Hydrographic Organization’s Antarctic Commission between 1992 and 1997 and in 1997 was presented with the Prince Albert Medal by His Serene Highness Prince Rainier of Monaco.  She was also awarded the Silver Medal of the British Cartographic Society for services to international cartography.

Ron Furness
Adviser

Ron is a renowned nautical cartographer. Retired from the Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) as the then Senior Civilian Director, Ron was responsible for co-ordination and development across a number of areas. He was involved with IHO Committees from early 1980s and represented AHO on many international working groups relating to nautical charting. He is a long-serving member of the FIG/IHO/ICA International Board for Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartographers.

First qualified at the Admiralty Hydrographic Office as a cartographic draftsman where he trained, Ron is Honorary Fellow, Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (Australia), Honorary Fellow, Mapping Sciences Institute, Australia, Honorary Fellow, International Cartographic Association and was a Hon Fellow at the University of Wollongong (appt. to 2010).

Ron is a keen advocate of international standards relating to the achievement of recognised competence.

Commodore MVK Rao
Vice President - Operations

With a Masters in Defense Studies, Commodore Rao has a distinguished record with Indian armed forces. A qualified pilot, during his illustrious career with Indian Navy, Commodore had the privilege of commanding four Warships, an Air Station and an Air Squadron. In addition to holding various Staff Appointments at Command and Naval Head Quarters, he also had a stint with the National Cadet Corps as a Group Commander.

After taking premature retirement from the Navy in 2001, Commodore has been actively contributing to the marine industry. He worked on various merchant marine ships as Master and later with his passion of maps and charts, he shifted to marine GIS industry.

As a President and executive management team member of “Project Krushi” a Non-Governmental Organization working towards helping underprivileged children realize their full potential for all round development, Commodore actively involves himself with social work aimed towards a) Care of children in difficult circumstances, b) Eradication of child labor and upliftment of children in urban slums and c) Education to children in Urban slums.  

Shekhar Murthy
President - IIC Academy

An alumnus of BITS, Pilani and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, with over 29 years of demonstrated techno-leadership experience, Shekhar is responsible for strategy and direction of IIC Academy.

Shekhar holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BITS); Master's in Systems Engineering & Management (IIT), M.Sc. in Physics (BITS), MBA, Ops Management (IGNOU), and Global Business Leadership (U-21). During his illustrious service with Indian defense forces and the industry, he has held coveted positions in areas of learning and development, operations, inspection, quality assurance, and research and development.  He had privilege of setting up world class learning centers in India, apart from being a professor and examiner at Pune University.

Shekhar has written several papers on holistic lifelong learning, e-learning, just-in-time techniques adapted to learning, pedagogy, experiential learning, and presented them in International forums. Learning is his passion, and transforming lives – his credo.
